What is Lavender?

Lavender ( Lavandula) is a genus of 47 known species of flowering plants in the mint family, Lamiaceae. It is native to the Old World and is found in Cape Verde and the Canary Islands and it's also have believed it to be native to the Mediterranean, the Middle East, and India, with a history dating as far back as 2,500 years.

In ancient times, lavender was used as a holy herb. Some say Lavender has a sweet floral scent for me it's more of a strong mint tart floral scent, Lavender has a very strong smell and taste.

Lavender as a tea has great benefits! Lavender tea is mostly know for well known health benefit of lavender tea is its ability to induce calm. The relaxing effects of lavender tea can help improve sleep and may be used to treat sleep disorders. According to multiple scientific studies, lavender tea helps calm brain function by triggering chemical reactions in the nervous system. Lavender tea boosts the production of dopamine and reduces the stress hormone known as cortisol. One such study found that lavender increases the percentage of deep slow-wave sleep, which is considered the restorative sleep phase.
